On the eve of the National Day, Jingbian–Shenmu Railway, a key project of Shaanxi Province's 13th Five-Year Plan, and Haolebaoji–Ji’an Railway, formerly the railway from Western Inner Mongolia to Central China, a freight railway demonstration line in China, have been put into operation in succession. CASCO provided both lines with multiple sets of signaling systems, and particularly the "Super Brain" FZk-CTC3.0 systems to help start a new era in national energy transportation, thus contributing to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC.
The First Train of Haolebaoji–Ji’an Railway
With a total length of 1813.5 kilometers, Haolebaoji–Ji’an Railway stretches through 7 provinces, starting from Inner Mongolia’s Haolebaoji Station in the north, and ending at Ji'an station in Jiangxi province. It is the largest dedicated coal railway line in China and the longest heavy haul railway in the world, which can directly supply coal from major coal production areas such as Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi and Shanxi to Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi by land transportation. It is a new strategic transportation channel for our country's "North-to-South Coal Transportation", with a planned annual transportation capacity of over 200 million tons.
As an important transportation line to guarantee the transport capacity of Haolebaoji–Ji’an Railway, Jingbian–Shenmu Railway, constructed by Shaanxi Railway Logistics Group, starts from Jingbian North Station in the south, connecting with Haolebaoji–Ji’an Railway, and goes to Shenmu West Station in the north, connecting with Baotou–Xi 'an Railway and Hongliulin–Shenmu Railway. The main line is 243.96 kilometers long, which is an important strategic channel to export the high-quality coal resources from northern Shaanxi to the east and south.
The two railways have applied CASCO’s industry-leading FZk-CTC3.0 with full independent intellectual property rights along the whole line. The "Super Brain" can realize automatic remote control of the train routes, which effectively solves the problem of frequent switch of control rights between the station and the dispatching center during the shunting control process. Also it can perform shunting operations at unattended stations, giving full play to the advantages of centralized traffic control.
As an all-round integrated train dispatching command system, CASCO’s FZk-CTC 3.0 is superior to the traditional CTC in system performance, safety, adaptability and stability, and gradually becomes the mainstream iterative product of CTC. Since its first application in Hekou South Railway Station of Lanzhou Railway Administration in 2016, CASCO’s FZk-CTC 3.0 system has been extensively used in many railway lines across the country, with more than 300 stations in operation.
In addition, CASCO also provided other signaling systems for the two lines. It has provided CSM-KA centralized signal monitoring system for 42 stations in Jiangling- Ji’an Section of Haolebaoji–Ji’an Railway, effectively improving the maintenance capability and efficiency. Besides, it has customized an integrated transportation dispatching system for the newly-built Dispatching Center of Shaanxi Railway Logistics Group. With CTC as the core, it integrates various specialties such as integrated dispatching management system, freight management information system, integrated station management system, and realized highly automatic and intelligent railway transportation management by unified dispatching and command of various resources, becoming another high-end integrated dispatching system customized for local railways after Shuozhou–Huanghua Railway, Pingmei Group and Lu'an Railway Transportation.

On the afternoon of October 31, CASCO, together with Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shentong Group”), Shanghai Telecom, Huawei, Shanghai Communications Services and other partners, launched China’s first rail transit operation management platform based on 5G applications – “5G+ Intelligent Operation Command Platform”, which is the first customized application of CASCO’s “Fully Automatic Operation System 2.0” for intelligent metros since its official release in June this year. At present, the platform has been officially put into operation at East Xujing Station of Shanghai Metro Line 2, aiming to provide intelligent rail transit service for the success of the Second China International Import Expo.
On October 11, 2019, under the escort of several CASCO signaling systems, the passenger dedicated line from Meizhou to Chaozhou-Shantou region officially entered into passenger-carrying operation, marking that the northeastern part of Guangdong was officially integrated into the “three-hour economic and living circle” of Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
At 10:00 a.m. on October 9, 2019, CASCO’s FZK-CTC3.0 centralized traffic control system with complete intellectual property rights was officially put into operation for Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway, the first heavy-haul railway in China. CASCO upgraded and transformed its original CTC system and assisted the successful reconstruction of signaling system, making it the first heavy-haul railway to be overhauled and renovated in China. It has not only greatly improved the freight capacity of the railway, but also set a new benchmark in the dispatching command of busy heavy-haul freight trunk railways with a capacity of ten thousand tons.
